00:01:02 Speaker 2

This is episode 21, harnessing hope in the times of uncertainty and Saruin is figuring out how to transform chaos into a foundation for building his resilience and growth.

00:01:20 Saurin

Comparing today's world to just a few years ago, I see many changes. There's more awareness and effort to improve the world, but also increasing chaos.

00:01:30 Saurin

We're facing existential level risk like the potential for AI to go rogue, contagious pandemic-causing diseases, and the ongoing issue of climate change.

00:01:41 Saurin

I can only handle a limited amount of troubling news before wondering if there's any hope left.

00:01:47 Saurin

How can I stay sane and optimistic in this uncertain times?

00:01:52 Saurin

What should I focus on to be better prepared for the future, and how can I transform this into building blocks for my resilience and personal growth?

00:02:02 Saurin

I'm also aware of my privilege and good fortune because of which I am not enduring the hardships that hundreds of millions are going through.

00:02:12 Saurin

What then should I do to have the most positive impact on the world?

00:02:17 Saurin

The following shlok points towards an Oasis in the desert of the above uncertainty.

00:02:32 Sheetal

Ya Nisha sarva bhuta Nam.

00:02:36 Sheetal

Kasam jagati sayami.

00:02:40 Sheetal

Yasam jagrati bhutani.

00:02:44 Sheetal

San Nisha, Pashtu, mune.

00:02:47 Sheetal

Chapter 2, verse 69.

00:02:52 Sheetal

The night for all living beings is the awakening of the vice.

00:02:58 Sheetal

And that which keeps living beings awake is night for the vice.

00:03:06 Sheetal

In the present context, Knight symbolizes turmoil, distress, challenges, and difficulties, while the opposite represents peace, stability, clarity, and harmony.

00:03:19 Saurin

The first part of the Shlokh suggests that I must consider the world's night as an opportunity to introspect, learn, adapt, and grow.

00:03:28 Saurin

The intent should be to awaken the courage and wisdom within that would lead to the most significant positive influence on the world.

00:03:37 Saurin

The second part of the SHLOK implies that I lack wisdom if I mindlessly consume negative news and engage in discussions where people choose to name, call, and sling mud, especially in the comments section, I should avoid such conversations by regarding them as Knights.

00:03:54 Saurin

That are filled with ignorance, intolerance and prejudices.

00:03:58 Saurin

So here is what I'm implementing. I acknowledge and accept that uncertainty is a fundamental aspect of life.

00:04:08 Saurin

Whenever I feel overwhelmed by the suffering and chaos in the world, I shift my perspective to see the opportunities for understanding and growth.

00:04:18 Saurin

I'm actively pursuing knowledge and insights through books, podcasts, videos, workshops, and I'm engaging in meaningful conversations with individuals who possess experiential wisdom.

00:04:31 Saurin

While doing so, I'm mindful of the information I consume.

00:04:35 Saurin

So called positive news may be frivolous. Whereas even distressing news can be thought provoking and constructive. I consider the sources and their intent.

00:04:46 Saurin

I'm connecting with like hearted individuals who share similar values and objectives, engaging in purposeful discussions and collaborations is helping to strengthen my hope and resilience.

00:04:59 Saurin

But I also continuously remind myself that the chaos will never completely disappear. Hence the work I do internally and externally is essential as it enhances my resilience. However dark the night of turmoil and challenges, the dawn of wisdom.

00:05:19 Saurin

And resilience is never too far behind. That is the message of the slokh.

00:05:24 Saurin

Within day is night and within night is the kernel of the oncoming day.

00:05:31 Saurin
